Chauncey grew up in Crescent Hill, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Psychology and earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law (San Diego) in 2004. He is currently managing partner and head of the trial & litigation departments at Winton & Hiestand Law Group as well as a proud Governor at Large on the Kentucky Justice Association’s (KJA) Board of Governors.

Prior to becoming a lawyer and with a calling to travel, Chauncey crisscrossed the country to over 25 National Parks. After earning his J.D. and getting married, a mutual passion flourished taking their honeymoon around the world in 34 days visiting California, Fiji, Australia, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Dubai and Washington.

Chauncey and Carrie have also explored Alaska, Dominican Republic, China, Hawaii, Italy, Bocas Del Toro, Costa Rica, Germany, the Swiss Alps, Atlantis (Bahamas) and most recently Japan. An adventure to London and Paris is currently in the works.

In 2012, Jeremy Winton and Chauncey Hiestand joined forces with a primary focus on helping those severely injured or killed by the negligence of others. They pride themselves on their results fighting the bully tactics of big insurance companies and corporations, whether it be through settlement or a jury verdict.

In 2024, Louisville Business First awarded Winton & Hiestand Law Group, Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville in the “10-24 Employees Category.” Winton & Hiestand Law Group has also been featured by U.S. News as well as in Forbes, Entrepreneur and Fortune Magazines.
